This month we have the privilege of highlighting our incredible client, Kristen Zook. She has an e-commerce business selling Hammock Stands designed for camping and sensory soothing. 

It’s important for this highlight to note that instead of having products available all the time, she usually has big sales events 2-3 times a year when her products are back in stock.

I’m not going to lie, I spent about 2 hours shopping when we first took her on as a client. Her products, especially the HIVE Hammock stand are SO cool and I knew right away that she was going to be successful. Kristen created something that is truly irresistible, and she trusted the Embodied Marketing team to make sure she was seen by the right people who would value it.

… and boy, did we deliver.

The Strategy:

When she first came on board we helped Kristen with a Kickstarter campaign, which was a great success -- raising a significant amount of revenue and attracting a lot of aligned ideal customers for future launches.

Back in February, we did a Kickstarter launch for Kristen promoting the Turtlebug Hammock Stand which was a big success. With ads and organic efforts, she got 486 backers who pledged $203,957 to support the project.

The next product launch for the Hive Hammock Stand was planned for the end of June. To boost sales, we knew that we needed to grow and nurture her email list during the months when there were no products to sell. This way, she would have a larger and more engaged audience for the Hive Hammock Stand launch.
 
To start, we used visibility ads to build up her audience, where 10,471 people watched the video, costing $0.005 each. This helped us attract Kristen’s ideal customer and get an idea of who we needed to target for her upcoming stock.

Knowing that she wouldn’t have products available for sale in the next few months, we created two lead magnet strategies to grow and engage her customer list between launches. This way, when her products are available again, she'd have a pool of warm leads who are chomping at the bit to get their hands on her products.

The two ads got over 2,000 landing page views combined, both had super successful click-through rates and led to a total of 765 warm, aligned leads for $1.90-$1.80 each.

After all of that prep work, it was time to make some SALES. We took everything we learned from the previous campaigns and started running retargeting ads aimed at people who have already shown interest in her products or had opted into her lead magnets. 

These ads feature two specific items: a low-cost offer of lightweight camp chairs for $120 and a higher-cost offer of the HIVE Hammock stand for $1,199.00

The Results:

The recent sales campaign delivered outstanding results, achieving a remarkable 4.13x Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) in just two weeks. This impressive performance really shows how effective and well-planned our marketing efforts have been across all the campaigns.

When considering the total ad spend across all campaigns, we invested $2,500 and generated $4,300 in revenue, resulting in a solid 1.70x ROAS. However, focusing solely on the two high-performing sales campaigns, we achieved a stellar 4.13x ROAS, with the chair product leading the way in both sales volume and revenue generation.

The Impact:

All these efforts have significantly strengthened Kristen's business and confidence in her marketing strategy. 

By building a large and engaged audience, she now has a reliable customer base ready for future product launches. The successful Kickstarter campaign has validated her products and built trust with her audience. The lead magnet strategies have ensured continuous engagement and growth of her customer list, even when products are not in stock.

Then the retargeting ads have already started generating sales, proving the effectiveness of all of our campaigns and the methodology of how we approached her audience.

With a strong foundation of warm leads, Kristen can confidently plan future product launches, expecting high demand and increased sales. This strategic approach not only boosts her current revenue but also sets her up for sustained growth and long-term success in her niche.
