This month I’m proud to be featuring our powerhouse clients Sherri Starr and Jessie Cox, of StarrCox, and all of the success they’ve had in April 2022! StarrCox helps other online business coaches and consultants to grow their business through offers like their $47/month membership Starrcox Collective, all the way to their high-ticket $10k Make Your Business Real By Design done-with-you coaching program.

Before partnering with Team Hirsh, they had launched their summit back in January of 2021 and got registrants, but their cost per lead was far too high (around $8-$15) and they weren’t able to crack the code on what types of creatives really resonated with their audience. They were missing a solid strategy for pre-warm-up content and had struggled with a few ad disapprovals. Most importantly they were struggling to fill their calendar with booked calls - and that’s where our team has really stepped up for StarrCox.

They’ve been working with our team since January of 2021, and after a lot of testing, auditing, and testing some more, our team nailed down a strategy that has worked extremely well for them so far: a book a call funnel. After shifting to this funnel in mid-April, StarrCox was able to see their calendar begin filling up, and ended the month with a 2.46 return on ad spend!

The Strategy:

Starrcox’s main goal was to bring in a stream of potential clients and get them to book calls with their team to sell them on their various offers, from their $47/month membership for coaches and consultants to their high-ticket $10k coaching program.

Our team kicked things off by auditing their previous funnel, recommending copy and creative changes, and the Starrcox team implemented. Initially, the strategy that we tested was a lead magnet to a book-a-call funnel. In March, Starrcox live launched with a summit, with the same goal to get people to book a call from this launch.

Neither of these strategies were resulting in the steady stream of booked calls that we’d hoped for, but this didn’t deter us from hitting our goals. We quickly pivoted on April 21st to testing a completely new direct book a call funnel and we finally cracked the code!

In terms of ad creative, we’re running one video ad that has been absolutely crushing it. It’s a very authentic and real video where Jessie is pouring her heart out to their ideal customer and outlining exactly what they can expect if they jump on a call with Starrcox. Our ad copy was also performing well with high click-through rates. However, we have discovered that some leads who’d booked calls weren’t qualified - so we have since adjusted the copy to directly call out online coaches and consultants.

The success of this funnel is also due in part to having our targeting dialed in. So far, the best performing audiences that we’ve tested have been layered audiences, including small business owners narrowed down by coaches, entrepreneurs narrowed down by coaches, and start-ups narrowed down by coaches.

From April 21st through April 30th, Starrcox had 14 booked calls (with 9 actually taking place in April and the rest spilling over into May) and landed 3 sales from this funnel, resulting in a 2.46X return on ad spend! Keeping in mind that this is a completely new funnel and we’re already seeing great results… our team is excited and confident that we will only continue to refine and improve our results from here!

The Impact:

What an impact we’ve made during our time working together! Not only has Starrcox been able to find a funnel strategy that WORKS and is finally hitting their booked call goals, but even more, this funnel has allowed Starrcox to increase the impact they have on their audience. Now that we are connecting qualified leads to Starrcox, they in turn are able to serve even more online coaches and consultants and support them in growing their own businesses, achieving their goals, and impacting their lives!

You Don't Always Need the "Sauce"

One thing to note about this funnel and all of the ad copy and creatives we’ve utilized is that it is all very simple, clear, and direct. There is no ‘fluff’ or ‘sauce’ here to jazz it up. It’s straight to the point and Starrcox’s audience resonated extremely well with this type of messaging and customer journey. So before you find yourself getting caught up in adding in tons of bells and whistles, remember that sometimes simplicity is key!

Marketing Is All About Testing

Marketing is a continuous process of testing until you find what works. Even if you implement a strategy and find that it completely tanks - you have that data and can use it to inform your decisions to refine, improve, and test something new. Together, our team and Starrcox tested out several different strategies until we landed on one that really resonated with their audience and effectively got their leads to book calls. In our experience, this strategy can be hit or miss - it’s a matter of testing to find what works for you, and in this case, it has worked wonders for Starrcox!
